And she paid that support forward by using her celebrity status (gained as a YouTube and reality TV star) as a platform to educate, support and encourage others. ![]() What makes Jazz’s story special is that she was diagnosed with gender dysphoria at a very young age and was lucky enough to have a support structure around her that encouraged her to be herself. ![]() She sometimes gets teased or ignored, but still has a lot of friends. She ran into some trouble trying to play on the girls’ soccer team, but eventually, the school administration came around. Her parents let her dress and live like a girl, which was more natural for her. Her family didn’t fully understand at first, but once a doctor explained to them all about being transgender, things changed for Jazz. Although she was born with a boy’s body, she was certain that she was a girl and told everyone so as soon as she learned how to talk.
