But be warned as these techniques are not as easy to practice. Of course, Fisher's scuttlebutt technique and his 15 points for stock selection provide immense insights into the analysis style of Fisher. For example: Should one sell if his stock has reached insane valuations so as to purchase it later at lower prices? Or how important is the dividend yield when considering a stock for long term? Moreover, the book discusses several puzzling situations which a long term investor often comes across, especially when the markets are volatile. Fisher's investing philosophy is focused on investing in potential blue chips when they are still small thereby resulting in huge gains. The book will help you to find future blue chips. (For example, one could have gained more than 9000% by investing in GRUH Finance ( a subsidiary of HDFC) when it was a small firm in early 2000s) Read this book if your aim is to gain several thousand % in the long term by concentrating on few outstanding firms with excellent management. If Graham is the king of quantitative analysis, then Fisher is the king of qualitative analysis of stocks.

In modern Europe, it is now agreed upon that the best way to organize society is through the principles of individual freedom and competitive meritocracy. The other problem is that men generally do not wish to feel that they are oppressing women, and thus they indoctrinate women into believing (or behaving like) they welcome their oppression. Many women express their displeasure at their subjugation, including those across the world who are currently fighting for the right to vote. Others argue that women freely consent to being ruled by men, yet this isn’t actually true either. People often justify gender inequality by arguing that it reflects human nature-but the same thing was once said of slavery, which is now widely understood to be a brutal, abhorrent institution. A modern, fair society should move away from this cruel system and institute structures that will best support the prosperity of all people. Mill laments the fact that the unequal system currently in place was not decided upon via a process of rational deliberation, but instead emerged from the “law of the strongest” that favored those with the most physical strength. Instead of men holding disproportionate privilege and power, men and women should be entirely equal. In The Subjection of Women, John Stuart Mill argues both that the current state of gender inequality is inherently wrong and that it is prohibiting human flourishing. From the town's founder, a brave young woman from England who has no fear of blizzards or bears, to the young man who runs away to New York City with only his dog for company, the characters in The Red Garden are extraordinary and vivid: a young wounded Civil War soldier who is saved by a passionate neighbor, a woman who meets a fiercely human historical character, a poet who falls in love with a blind man, a mysterious traveler who comes to town in the year when summer never arrives. These tales, with their tight, soft focus on America, cast their own spell.”- The Washington Post The Red Garden introduces us to the luminous and haunting world of Blackwell, Massachusetts, capturing the unexpected turns in its history and in our own lives. “A dreamy, fabulist series of connected stories. I will toy with your feelings, to the point that you’ll wish you never had them in the first place. I will slash through your walls so deep, you won’t be able to get me out even if you tried. It was a moment of salvation, and, I swear, I could almost see the angels coming down from heaven and offering me their grace. Or more like it hit me upside the head when I was gazing at the fucking boring sky the other day. In fact, I hate it so much that I’m contemplating the best way to bring up the toxicity a notch just to keep you here. Is that what this is all about? The ending? This should’ve been evident for the three years we’ve known each other, but they say you never realize you’re in a toxic relationship until it ends. It has cometo my attention that we’re toxic. The big draw of these books is the voice of Alcatraz-the-author, who interrupts and explains and rigmaroles his “origin” story, complete with cheeky winks and nods at Newbery Medal books and To Kill a Mockingbird. And that shows even in his books for younger audiences The Rithmatist was wildly creative, and Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians is as well, especially the magic system. He’s incredibly prolific and has the knack for developing unique magic in all of his books. As an author, as a worldbuilder, he really is phenomenal. Rating: 3/5 I need to preface this review by stating that I love Brandon Sanderson. Alcatraz must stop them!…by infiltrating the local library, armed with nothing but eyeglasses and a talent for klutziness. This is no ordinary bag of sand…and it is quickly stolen by the cult of evil Librarians who are taking over the world by spreading misinformation and suppressing truth. But on his thirteenth birthday, he receives a bag of sand, and life takes a bizarre turn. Alcatraz Smedry doesn’t seem destined for anything but disaster. In his five previous thrillers, James Rollins, the king of speculative adventure writing, has taken readers on mind-expanding journeys spanning from the top of the world to deep within the earth's surface. “Rollins writes with intelligence, clarity, and a refreshing sense of humor.”-Kirkus Reviews More heart-stopping action and suspense from the bestselling author of Amazonia and Subterranean. She is bright, entertaining and inspirationally comfortable in her own skin, yet she’s also honest about the struggles she’s been through. And she paid that support forward by using her celebrity status (gained as a YouTube and reality TV star) as a platform to educate, support and encourage others. What makes Jazz’s story special is that she was diagnosed with gender dysphoria at a very young age and was lucky enough to have a support structure around her that encouraged her to be herself. She sometimes gets teased or ignored, but still has a lot of friends. She ran into some trouble trying to play on the girls’ soccer team, but eventually, the school administration came around. Her parents let her dress and live like a girl, which was more natural for her. Her family didn’t fully understand at first, but once a doctor explained to them all about being transgender, things changed for Jazz. Although she was born with a boy’s body, she was certain that she was a girl and told everyone so as soon as she learned how to talk. She tells about her best friends and things that they have in common, and then she explains what makes her different, which is that she is transgender. Jazz introduces herself and tells the reader about things that she likes, including her favorite colors, sports and activities. Set in a world modeled on the latter half of the twentieth century, Lee’s trilogy is a fusion of crime stories like The Godfather and tales about the Yakuza, epic fantasy magical battles and martial arts duels, global expansionism and cultural examination, and, at its core, a deeply wrought family saga.
